The Sonoma Valley Leadership program is designed to identify, train, and motivate the finest current and future leaders from all business and not-for-profit segments and to prepare them for community involvement. Founded in 1998 under then Chamber President Art Fichtenberg (Arthur Fichtenberg & Associates), the program aims to develop leadership skills; to educate future leaders on a broad range of community issues, needs, and resources; to introduce future leaders to each other and to current leaders; and to encourage informed people to serve in community leadership positions.
The 2012 Leadership Academy will be comprised of monthly three-hour lunchtime sessions over the course of the year, with panels, presentations, and site visits covering a different leadership topic each month, along with in-depth exploration of sectors such as education, agribusiness, local government, tourism, and health care.
